Vintage Griswold No 3 (2628) Cast Iron Oval Roaster Cover Restored Condition

This is the earliest version of the No 3 oval roaster cover, with the Slant Erie mark. This listing is for the COVER ONLY. Very hard to find, especially when you need one. None of the Slant Erie covers are known to have external lettering in any size. Only some of the Slant EPU and Block EPU covers have external lettering, and some of those are still smooth.

This one has a hairline crack that showed up during cleaning (see photos). Item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process insures the removal all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. Item is well seasoned with several rounds of seasoning. This items were photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details.

Under these lighting conditions, item will take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal light. Photos are part of the items description. Please use them for a more clear understanding of items overall condition.
