The top figure is opening a box and holding a flowering vine. 3 Beautiful Female Figurative Nudes, adorned with Roses, flowering Vines (Mirth) and Grapes.
Reminiscent of the 3 Roman Gratiae (Graces) or Greek Charities of Greek Mythology. Motif taken from ancient Greek Literature regarding the 3 daughters of Zeus and Eurynome. Who bestow their gifts on humanity. Goddesses of Charm, Beauty, Nature, Human Creativity, Goodwill, Fertility. Aglaea (Elegance), Euphrosyne (Good Cheer, Joy and Mirth), Thalia (Youth and Beauty).
These Charities attended the goddess of beauty, Aphrodite. Works well with many Décor styles: Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, Romantic, Farmhouse Chic. Would be lovely with a Fitted Mirror for a Vanity.
Marked on the legs, Gerard De Fondeur (Gerard the Founder, French), PR 115 (Production number 115). Frame Weighs 10lb 10 oz. Frame Measures 18" x 10.5" Overall, Oval Picture or Mirror Opening measures 11" x 9". Has had a Bolt replaced, be sure to read condition description and look over the photos. Oval on the back of the frame separates to insert glass or photos and is held in place by small bolts.
