Vintage Griswold No 7 (2631/648) Cast Iron Oval Roaster Seasoned Cond

Vintage Griswold No 7 cast iron oval roaster in seasoned condition with the desirable lettered cover. It is getting difficult to locate oval roasters in such great condition. Most are snatched up by collectors or passed along in the family. The cooking surface is in great condition with just a few small pits from corrosion. These do not have a factory polish but is still relatively smooth to the touch. The oven has roughly a 6-1/2 quart capacity and is best for a 9-12 pound roast. Pot does have movement on a granite surface (see photos). No chips, cracks or repairs. This item is from an old collection that was cleaned and seasoned, then stored for many years. Because item was stored for many years, there may be spots of light surface rust. This can generally be washed away then re-seasoned before use. This item is photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, item may take on a brown color. Item is much darker under normal light.
