A truly rare find-- 1940s/50s vintage Le Creuset #26 - 3.5 quart dutch oven/cocotte in a very scarce soft blue-green color (some call it Seafoam or Sage). This hard-to-find color isn't exactly green, nor is it quite blue, and is reminiscent of the color of French Green Clay from the Montmorillon region of France-- see last pic for color comparison against a Hunter Green LC pie pan & Paris Blue dutch oven (not included, only used for comparing colors). The color changes depending on the light and looks most accurate in pics #5 & 8, in my opinion. The interior is a silver-gray enamel-- one of the first interior colors from the earliest years (also seen on older Flame & Paris Blue pieces). Not to be confused with the "Glissemail" gray interior circa 1980s, which is a noticeably darker charcoal color.
No cracks, a few small enamel chips on the edges, but nothing major. Minor wear from use & storage. The cooking area is chip-free & silky smooth to the touch, with some faint stains/ discolorations. Note some enamel pop specks on the inside, which are smooth and enameled over. There are some production goofs which are typical of Le Creuset, such as enamel pops or bubbles; mold flaws, bumps, or indents; color over-spray or under-spray; etc.
These are normal and should be expected. Beautiful, clean, and ready for use or display.
Good faith efforts for accurate pictures and description. I'm happy to send more pictures or info-- just ask! Please review your order carefully before purchasing, all sales are final.
