Vintage Wagner Ware No 5 Cast Iron Drip-Drop Oval Roaster Restored Cond

This is a vintage Wagner No 5 Drip-Drop Baster oval roaster with cover from about 1910. Both pieces do not have pattern numbers, and the cover has the Zig-Zag drip ring, and is marked Patent Applied For, overall indicating early production. This is in beautiful condition, and just in time for Christmas. The cooking surface has some etching from corrosion and a few utensil scores. These are undetectable as you glide your fingers over a near glass smooth surface. Six sheet of printer paper stops movement on a granite surface. No chips, cracks or repairs and does not spin. Test for flatness of item. With the item resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the top rim of the item searching for movement.

If movement is found, slip pieces of printer paper under one edge of the until pot stops moving. Item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process insures the removal all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more.

Item is well seasoned with several rounds of seasoning. This items were photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details.

Under these lighting conditions, item will take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal light.
